About The CAD Society

The CAD Society is a not-for-profit industry association with the goal of fostering a community and encouraging open communication among those who make their living within the CAD industry including AEC, mechanical, manufacturing, and GIS.

What does that mean? Basically, we are here to make your life better.

But we need to hear from you - let us know how we can achieve this goal. Should we continue to push for industry-wide interoperability guidelines? What can we do to open communications between users and vendors?

Why should I join?

Power in numbers. Joining The CAD Society allows your voice to be multiplied. For instance, if a CAD software developer has initiated a policy that could adversely affect your company or the entire industry, The CAD Society will make sure your opinions get heard.

As an Individual member, what does your $40 per year get you? Besides joining a growing network of CAD users and getting access to original CAD-related content as well as discounts to leading CAD publications, hardware, software and training that easily outweighs the membership itself, your dollars are what helps to keep us active.

Are you concerned about the decreasing enrollment of engineering students that could severely curtail the ability of industrialized countries to compete in the 21st century? We are. That is why we want to initiate a Mentor Program. The goal here is to help students become more interested in engineering, design, manufacturing, etc. by putting them in touch with those professionals who are making a living doing it.

Are you concerned that younger students are not getting the necessary math and science skills needed to perk their interest in engineering and design? We are. That is why we want to initiate our "Friends of The CAD Society" program. The goal here is to build a network designers and engineers - who are either retired or have time on their hands - and get them to help out any school that needs assistance in math, science, design, engineering or CAD.

These are just some of the issues we want to address. But we need your support. So please consider joining The CAD Society.
